Natural Treatment for Dark Eye Circles

Teabags
Did you know teabags have other uses than just preparing tea. Well, apparently they help reduce dark circles. For this remedy, dunk two tea bags into cold water for a few minutes. Squeeze out the excess water from the teabags. Now, lie down, close your eyes and place the cool teabags on your eyes for at least ten minutes. The tannin present in the tea will alleviate swelling and discoloration. Carry out this exercise for a few days till you find reduced discoloration. You could even use the herbal tea bags for better effect.

Raw Cucumber or Potato slices
Placing cold cucumber slices or raw potato slices for 15-20 minutes on the eyelids will help reduce dark circles under the eyes. You could also prepare a mixture of potato and cucumber juice and mix them in equal amounts. Soak a cotton ball into the juice mixture and place it on the eyelids for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse your eyes with cool water. Potato and cucumber are known to refresh the appearance of the skin under the eyes.

Asian Pear
This juicy, luscious fruit is a wonderful way to reduce the shade of dark circles. The antioxidant properties of this fruit help destroy free radicals, thereby protecting the skin from cellular damage. Moreover, the copper present in the pear, attacks the harmful foreign bodies that enter the body system from the surrounding environment.

Almond Oil
Gently rubbing some onto Almond Oil the skin surrounding the eyes can make the skin soft and supple. Do this twice everyday to find results. Or else if you don't have almond oil, get hold of a little almond powder and mix it with little milk cream. Apply this paste around the eyes and wash away after some time.

Vitamin E
Cut the tip of a vitamin E capsule and apply the oil within it onto the skin surrounding the eyes. Vitamin E nourishes the skin and revitalizes it, thereby reducing the dark circles. If you have the vitamin E tablet, then powder it and mix it with some honey and egg white. Apply this paste onto the skin under the eyes for some time and then rinse away.

Juice Mixture
Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are known to be beneficial to the skin. A mixture of 1 teaspoon tomato juice, ½ teaspoon lemon juice, a pinch of Turmeric and some flour (enough to form a thick paste), when applied around the eyes and washed after fifteen minutes helps reduce dark circles. You could apply pineapple juice into which a pinch of turmeric has been sprinkled onto the skin. Wash after twenty minutes.
